From assigning a lab to your group to using every tool in the live panel: messages, teleport, demo mode, and results.
Pick a lab and assign it to your group
In the Labs catalog, every card has a people icon — open it to assign that lab to one of your groups.
Choose the group
The list only shows your own groups (or all of them, if you're an admin). Clicking a name creates an instance of the lab just for that class.
You land on the live panel
As soon as it's created you land on its tracking panel — empty for now, waiting for students to join.
The student gets the invite instantly
As soon as the student opens any MathGames page, a card lets them know a lab is waiting. One click on Enter and they're in the first room.
Plays room by room
Each room has its own challenge. The student moves at their own pace; you watch their progress live from the panel.
Track room, points, and % success
The table updates itself: which room each student is in, their points, and what percentage of their answers were right on the first try.
See exactly what a student sees
Click any student's room to open a window with the exact question they're looking at — handy for helping someone who's stuck, without walking over to their screen.
Broadcast a message to the whole class
The Broadcast to all button sends a short note that appears on every student's screen — a general hint, a time warning, whatever you need to tell everyone at once.
Take everyone to a specific room
If you want the whole class to jump to a specific room together (say, to resume after break), Take to room moves every active student at once.
Demo mode: walk through a room together
Demo mode locks every student into the room you pick, so you can explore it together while you project it from your own screen — the "as a student" link opens that room in a new tab. When you leave the room, MathGames lets you choose: send each student back to the room they were in, leave everyone in the demo room to keep exploring, or cancel.
Results live on the group page
Both during and after the session, the group page (under My groups) summarizes each student's work on every lab: rooms done, score, and average error rate. You can also export it to CSV.
💡 Note: labs with a design-your-own phase (like Mazes or Polyominoes) also add a Distribute challenges button, to hand out what each student designed to the rest of the class.
