How to register your class, keep names in order, and stay in control of enrollment.
From My groups, click New group
In the top menu open My groups and click + New group, top right.
Fill in the name
Only the name is required. Organization and birth year are optional and help MathGames set the default difficulty for some labs.
Share the invite link
As soon as you save, the group gets its own link. Copy it and share it with your class — WhatsApp, the whiteboard, whatever works.
Each student signs in with their name and a mascot
The student opens the link, types their name, and picks a mascot — animal, color, and background. No password or email needed. Signing in with a mascot creates a warmer, friendlier feel and protects students from classmates logging into their account and stealing their identity.
You'll see each student appear in real time
As soon as a student joins, their name appears on your group page without reloading. Once the whole class is in, click Close group so the link stops accepting new sign-ups.
A weird name? Rename it yourself
In the Students section, at the bottom of the group page, every name is an editable field. Type the correct name and click the ✓ to save it — handy when a student signs up as "xXx_Pro_xXx" or similar. The icon next to it resets their mascot if they forgot it, and the trash icon removes them from the group.
Group closed, ready to work
With the group closed, anyone opening the link who hasn't joined before sees a notice — they can only sign in if they were already a member. You can reopen it at any time with the same button.
From here, the group is ready for a lab or a competition — with live tracking and real results, like the one below.
